Boat Maintenance
Comprehensive care for your vessel, including antifouling preparation and application, Propspeed treatment for underwater metals, topside polishing, high-pressure waterblasting, and anode replacement. We use premium products like International and Sea Hawk antifouls, ensuring top-quality results tailored to your vessel’s needs.
Antifouling Preparation
We prepare vessels for antifouling by addressing all necessary steps, including sanding, grinding, filling, and fairing. Loose surfaces are thoroughly sanded, and the underwater hull is washed to ensure a stable base. Following this, vessels are fully primed.
The waterline is then carefully masked in anticipation of the antifouling application.
Antifouling
We apply two coats minimum of high-quality antifouling to meet the manufacturer’s specifications.
We primarily stock and recommend International and Sea Hawk biocop FT antifouls and primers; however, we can source various other brands upon request.
Propspeed
Propspeed is a silicone-based product we offer to prevent marine growth on underwater metal components such as propellers, rudders, shafts, trim tabs, and brackets.
It is a highly recommended application, particularly for high-performance vessels.
Polishing of Topsides
Our experienced professionals provide top-side polishing services. This process involves a thorough wash down followed by polishing, which cleans, brightens, and seals fiberglass (GRP) or painted surfaces.
High Pressure Waterblasting
Vessels are placed onto our wash-down pad, where our skilled personnel perform high-pressure waterblasting up to 5000 psi to effectively remove all marine growth. If preferred, owners can also undertake this task themselves.
Scraping is performed as needed prior to blasting.
Anodes
Cairns Boat Yard has access to a comprehensive selection of anodes. We recommend regular anode checks and replacement to prevent corrosion of your vessel's critical systems. We can remove and replace anodes at your discretion.

Docking Services
Cairns Boat Yard offers commercial-grade swing moorings available in water depths of 5 to 20 meters, suitable for vessels up to 70ft. Our dock can accommodate vessels up to 65ft in length with a 12ft draft. It is available for both short-term and long-term use and is equipped with water, as well as single and three-phase power.
